AP Writer Doesn't Have A Good Grasp On History (Or English)
Ryan Lenz, AP writer doesn't have a clue, it appears. He writes a piece about the finding of buried weapons in Iraq. He quotes an American soldier involved:
"This is the mother load, right here," Sgt. Jeremy Galusha, 25, of Dallas, Ore., said, leaning on a shovel after finding more than 20 Soviet missiles.
Anybody see the mistake? California Gold Rush, 1848. Mother what? The term is Mother Lode, not load.
It's sophomoric writing like this that causes me to have no respect for the AP.
I'll be back, soon
